A Practical Course on Small Handgun Performance
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “That gun will get you killed in the streets.” It’s a common saying online, often referring to sub-compact or micro-compact semi-automatic pistols and small-frame revolvers with barrels around two inches long. Despite this sentiment, a large percentage of concealed carriers choose these firearms for everyday carry due to their lightweight design and ease of concealment—especially compared to full-sized pistols like the Glock 17. Others carry them occasionally, believing the likelihood of needing their gun in a defensive situation is low.
Regardless of the reasoning, if you’re carrying a small handgun to defend yourself and your loved ones, you need to be able to handle it effectively and shoot it well.
What You’ll Learn:
This intensive course takes a deep dive into the unique challenges of carrying and shooting small handguns, including:
- Understanding limitations: Shorter barrels impact ballistic performance, smaller sight radii affect accuracy, and reduced grip surface makes recoil management more difficult.
- Reloading under pressure: Micro-compacts and small-frame revolvers are harder to reload quickly—training can mitigate this disadvantage.
- Real-world engagement distances: Criminals dictate the terms of violent encounters—they don’t wait for us to be at the “ideal” distance to draw and fire.
- Skill-building drills: Learn techniques to overcome the challenges of small firearms in both public and home-defense scenarios.
