The coordinated efforts of two trained individuals acting in harmony can have a synergistic effect that permits them in many instances to accomplish much greater tasks than a larger number of individuals acting separately when dealing with one or more dangerous adversaries.
Having nothing more in common than an agreement to “partner up” is not enough. An effective two-man team will know how to communicate effectively in a dangerous environment fraught with distractions, establish basic standard operating principles, constantly monitor express and implied areas of responsibility, and be able to implement fight-winning tactics and techniques on demand.
The objective of this block is introduce the students to one way, and not necessarily the only way, of learning how to employ basic verbal and non-verbal commands, methods of maintaining 360 to 540-degree situational awareness, techniques for making sure at least one member of the team is always in a position to engage violent criminal actors should the need arise, and several tactics that may be of value if a couple is forced to move forward or backwards in a high-risk environment such as dealing with a home invasion, clearing a home in order to get to household members during a burglary, breaking contact inside a structure or in an open air environment during an active shooter event, or even closing on an active shooter (a real possibility for members of church security teams).
This class is designed expressly for couples that reside in the same household, members of church security teams, private security and law enforcement officers, and other instructors (who upon request will be provided with a copy of the lesson plan).
